Zaloni Raises $7.5M in Series A Funding For Its Data Lake Management Solutions

On February 7, Zaloni today announced the finalization of $7.5M in Series A funding led by Sierra Ventures with additional participation from Baird Capital. Zaloni provides data lake management solutions that empower businesses to more effectively store, curate and retrieve data originating from the heterogeneity of data sources specific to the contemporary enterprise. Zaloni’s Bedrock product helps organizations ingest massive amounts of data, improve data visibility through the addition of metadata, and prepare data for use by means of data tagging and transformations of formats as a preliminary step to more advanced queries and data visualization. Meanwhile, Zaloni’s Mica product delivers a self-service discovery tool that helps organizations obtain greater visibility into existing data stores in conjunction with a user interface that simplifies and streamlines end user interaction with the data sets in question. More broadly, Zaloni’s data lake management solutions help organizations manage the challenge specific to deriving actionable business intelligence from massive repositories of data. The Series A funding will be used to continue to accelerate Zaloni’s product development and expand its marketing and sales operations. Given the intensity of enterprise needs to store, curate, retrieve and render actionable ever growing volumes of enterprise data, Zaloni’s emphasis on data curation, data governance and data security positions it strongly to expand its footprint in the enterprise data lake space. Current customers include Verizon and UnitedHealth Group and more. Expect to hear more from the Durham, NC-based company in upcoming months as it leverages its fresh infusion of capital to build on its 100% year over year growth.
